Delivery / Shipping / Returns

Dispatch times:

Orders are usually processed and dispatched within 2 days of receiving payment.  Sometimes there may be a delay if we are away at a classic car event or meeting when an order is placed.  Occasionally we may be away from the office for more than a few days, in which case we will post a notice on the website, stating our expected return date.  Once dispatched, actual shipping times will vary depending on destination and courier/delivery service.

Shipping costs:

Shipping fees are determined by the total weight of the order, the destination and the delivery service being used.  A minimal fee is included to cover our packing costs. The shipping fee may also include an additional cost for postage/packing for items that are particularly fragile or above the size allowed by the shipping company or above the value of the standard insurance provided by the shipping company.

For customer's convenience, a guide price for shipping an order will be displayed (on the left-hand side of the screen) as soon as the customer adds goods to their cart. It will automatically update if changes are made to the cart's contents or if changes are made during the check-out process. If the customer has not registered their details on our system or is not logged in, the guide price shown will be based on the cheapest postage option for delivery to mainland UK.If the customer is registered with us and logged in, the shipping price shown will take their actual address into account and it will therefore be the actual shipping price, rather than a guide. Sometimes there may be different delivery options. If so, the price shown will be the cheapest option, until the point at which the customer selects their delivery option (during the checkout process).

The actual shipping fee is displayed before the customer is asked to commit to making payment. 

We advise customers to group items in one order, as separately placed orders will incur separate shipping fees.

Depending on shipping company weight thresholds, and also on stock levels and stock location, we may occassionally decide to seperate an order into more than one shipment.  We will inform the customer if this is the case.

Taking delivery:

We pack orders appropriately and take special care when packing fragile objects.  If an order is damaged in transit this is likely to be due to mishandling during the shipping process, which is beyond our control.  We ask customers not to accept delivery if the packaging is damaged, as this may invalidate any claim that they might make against the shipping company responsible.

Collecting your order from us:

From Worthing:

We are based in Worthing, West Sussex, on the south coast of England.

If you would prefer collect your order from us, we advise that you contact us before ordering, to ensure that this is possible at a mutually agreeable time.  In all cases, collection would only be possible under the following conditions:

  1. It would be entirely at our discretion and would depend on our own personal circumstances around the anticipated time of collection.
  2. Collection must be at a mutually agreed time and will not be possible during times when we are away for holidays, events, etc.
  3. You should select the "collect from us, by prior arrangement" option during the checkout procedure, to ensure that shipping charges are not incurred.
  4. Payment must be cleared before the goods will be released. (Occasionally, by prior arrangement and at our discretion, payment in cash on collection may be possible).

At meetings/events:

If we are attending a classic car event/meeting, it may occasionally be possible for us to bring an order with us, for you to collect from us there, but only under the following conditions:

  1. It would be entirely at our discretion and would depend on our own personal circumstances, practicality of transportation and other criteria.
  2. It would be essential that you contact us to discuss arrangements before placing your order.
  3. You should select the "collect from us, by prior arrangement" option during the checkout procedure, to ensure that shipping charges are not incurred.
  4. Payment must be cleared before we set off.  (Occasionally, by prior arrangement and at our discretion, payment in cash at the meeting point may be possible).
  5. It would be the buyer’s responsibility to find us at the meeting and to collect the order.

Returns:

Our returns policy is in accordance with the EU distance selling regulations, which can be seen in detail on government sites here and here (click for links). These regulations include the right to cancel an order by written notification within seven days of completion of a contract. There are some exceptions to this, as described in detail here (click for link), but most do not apply to the goods that we sell.  In all cases, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible, so that we can rectify any problems without delay. The return of goods must be arranged by the buyer and at the buyer’s expense and risk.  Please ensure that you obtain a certificate of posting from the post office or the equivalent if using another delivery company.  Any returned items must be complete, including all packaging, and must be in the same condition as when supplied.  Our returns address is: 3 Eton Road, Worthing, West Sussex, BN11 4RA.  Incorrectly supplied goods should be returned within seven days of receipt.  Any credit due will normally be made within five working days of us receiving the returned goods.  We would not normally accept any item for credit if it has been fitted or used, unless it was faulty when supplied.  Incomplete or defaced items will not be accepted for credit.  In the event of any item being damaged in transit, please refer to the ‘Taking Delivery’ paragraph above.
